God's son—at the same time, still part of God, come to live on Earth for a short life as one of us, to take on the burdens of mortality.
[ a pause— ]
...admittedly, most of the celebrations haven't been purely religious for a long time. I suppose gifts and family and romance are a bit easier to sell people on, and—well, it's probably easier for me to be religious about it, all things considered.
[ the elevator dings its arrival, and the doors open. she ducks her head slightly as she enters, even though it's not like there's anyone else to see her face. ]
[ she taps her foot a few times, lightly—a slightly nervous movement, and then the elevator dings and the doors slide open, and she moves to step into the hallway outside the dorm. ]
[ despite the fact they knew it was coming it still catches them somewhat off-guard, and it's also so familiar, somehow - but after a moment their tail slowly starts to wag and they kiss back, chastely. ]
ah. the world isn't ending, though she still feels like she's dying, a little, but—that's kind of good, right? it means she's still herself.
after a moment she gently rests her forearms on their shoulders, and parts her lips into it, a little bit. a sort of gentle unspoken permission, as it were. ]
[ it's strange, that they keep ending up in this position, to be the one to gently introduce (or reintroduce) someone to intimacy - but somehow, unlike all the other things they find strange about their life in this place it doesn't make them feel at all uncomfortable.
after all, it's still love, isn't it? it's not outside of their purpose, even if it's something softer. so they smile against Hope's lips and then take her cue and press forward into the kiss, deepening it and resting their hands softly on her hips. ]
[ she makes a soft sigh that turns into sort of a whine in the back of her throat, in a way that's a embarrassingly needy. hungry, maybe, as she responds in kind. god, she's been really touch-starved, hasn't she?
she lets her back thunk against the wall, lightly, and tugs Aria with her, pulling them closer. ]
[ oh, that's cute. they let their hands run up her sides before just wrapping them around her back to hold her tight with a somewhat uncharacteristic giggle. ]
[ That's—familiar, somehow? In a good way, though, and even though her chest rises and falls a little heavily, she threads her arms more around their shoulders, fingers lacing into their hair. ]

Re: Aria
[ and there's the hotel; through the front doors and across the lobby to the elevators. ]
Are you going to play the game? It seems like—at least there's nothing just... stopping me from not doing it, but...
Re: Aria
Re: Aria
[ she hits the up button for the elevator, regardless. ]
I suppose this sort of thing has been on my mind at least a little. What it would take for me to be able to—
Re: Aria
Re: Aria
Maybe that's true. I just—
You're sure you're going to be all right?
Re: Aria
Well. As alright as I always am.

Hey—Aria?
Re: Aria
Yes?
Re: Aria
...would it be all right if I kissed you?
Re: Aria
Of course it would be, if you're comfortable with kissing me.
Re: Aria
I keep thinking that... it would be nice, so—
[ god. she’s been working herself up to this the whole time, and still—
but. she turns and leans in, to press her lips against Aria’s, soft. ]

Re: Aria
Better—than I remember—
Re: Aria
Hah! I'd hope I'm not so terrible as your last time.
Re: Aria
[ she just sort of gently thunks her forehead against theirs. ]
Takes something away from the experience to be thinking about how much you hate the other person the whole time.
