Well, Christmas is a holiday of my religion—one of the most important holidays, in fact, so it's specifically Christian theology, so I wanted to consider that—"The Liberation of Christmas: Infancy Narratives in Social Context."
I'm given to understand that my religion is a bit unique among some of the others represented here, in that it is a matter more of faith than fact—which leads to any number of interpretations of the actual text.
In my case, the interpretation that speaks most to me—and the one I feel is true—is the reading that prioritizes compassion, care for one's neighbors, and liberation from oppression and injustice.
But it's one of those things where—even though the historical record's a bit fuzzy, the idea of a doctrine that, as written, flies in the face of both of those things—it rather makes me want to believe it. So I do.

What, ah, sort of theology, if I may ask?

I suppose even though I didn't remember it at the time, that was in part the intention behind my naming myself the way I did.

If I, ah, wanted to kiss someone, I could do that on my own. And not...for something like this.
